The Cessna Citation CJ2 is the aircraft Cessna came up when they were designing a plane for owners that wanted to the reliability of the Cessna product but something bigger than a Citation CJ. Instead of a straight wing which slows the aircraft down considerably, Cessna designed the wing on this aircraft in a joint venture with NASA called a laminar flow wing. This wing changes the lift to drag characteristics of the aircraft making drag ten to fifteen percent less than the straight wing design.
The CJ2 was designed for the businessman who flies his the jet. Its single-pilot capability with an increased range from the CJ1 makes it a favorite jet to own and a popular jet to charter. The CJ2 boasts impressive runway performance as well as payload capacity. The cabin typically seats six passengers plus two pilots with plenty of baggage space for everyone.
